Gymnastics at the 2008 Summer OlympicsGymnastics competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 9 to August 24.ArtisticEvents14 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:* Team All-Around Men * Individual All-Around Men * Floor Men * Pommel Horse Men * Rings Men * Vault Men * Parallel Bars Men * Horizontal Bar Men * Team All-Around Women * Individual All-Around Women * Vault Women * Uneven Bars Women * Balance Beam Women * Floor Women QualificationAn NOC may enter up to 6 men and 6 women athletes. Qualification is based on the results of the 2007 World Artistic GymnasticsRhythmicEvents2 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:* Individual Women * Group Women QualificationAn NOC may enter up to 2 individuals and up to 1 group of 6 athletes. Qualification is based on the results of the 2007 World Championships held in Patras (GRE), September 19-21, 2007.Individual places will be awarded as follows: * 20 best gymnasts in the World Championships * 3 places granted by FIG Executive Committee to ensure participation of the Host Nation and each continent * 1 invitational place |
