Tennis at the 2008 Summer OlympicsTennis competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing will be held from August 10 to August 17. The tournaments will be held at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre.Events4 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:* Men's Singles * Men's Doubles * Women's Singles * Women's Doubles Competition FormatThe tennis competition at the Olympic Games consists of a single elimination tournament. The 2 losers in the semifinal will play for the bronze medal.QualificationEach NOC can enter 6 men and 6 women athletes, with a maximum of 4 entries in the individual events, and 2 pairs in the doubles events. Athletes may compete in both single and doubles events. |
